I am a Birmingham born artist currently working from my home studio in the picturesque village of Gorey in Jersey, Channel Islands.
Inspired by the unique healing power of trees and salt water, I paint and draw contemporary landscapes using the fluidity of watercolours, and the monochromatic contrast of mono printing and pen and ink. I originally trained as a textile designer - specialising in print for fashion - this love of pattern, shape and texture is always evident in my work.
One of my major influences is the Japanese painting technique of Sumi-e, where white space is carefully curated with mindful brushstrokes and a limited colour palette, always aiming to capture the timeless beauty and complexity of the natural world.
